372 Digital had the opportunity to join the Australia-Nepal Friendship Society, Kathmandu, Outward Bound Australia and Duke of Edinburgh International Award – Australia to provide help to the people of Nepal after their most recent earthquake. The April 2015 Nepal earthquake, also known as the Gorkha earthquake, killed more than 8,800 people and injured more than 23,000. These four organisations came together to create a sleeping bag and tent drive campaign. Members of the public could elect which item they would like to donate, and Kathmandu would throw in a free medical kit with every donation. These items would then be prepared and sent to Nepal.
Last week, a representative from each organisation joined together to receive recognition for their efforts from The Chronicle. It was wonderful for all the organisations to come together, everyone was so appreciative of each one’s efforts and contributions to the cause. It was also nice to hear of the progress of the campaign, and the help it was already providing to the Nepalese people who had received the first round of sleeping bags and tents.
We were so grateful for the opportunity to help out such a wonderful cause and will continue to keep you updated about the progress of the campaign.
